Experiencing Chile’s Literary Giant Pablo Neruda in Santiago

When thinking about going away with friends for the summer, young people tend to consider places with lots to see and do, which are friendly, with a good nightlife, adventure, sports, nature activities, etc. This is why Santiago, Chile is the place to be. Learning, living, visiting, dancing, enjoying the city and, in general, located in a country as incredible as Chile. The capital, although vast, is easy to find your way around. Between using the metro and walking, you can see and do everything. With parks, pleasant places to sit, viewpoints and heights where you can gain a different perspective. And, amongst all the city’s attractive qualities, its people and the place have its own merits.

La Chascona, is a fun Casa Museo to visit, its name coming from the tangled hair of the writer Pablo Neruda’s secret love. The place radiates magic – filled with curiosities and touches that are very much in the style of its owner. The originality and ingenuity of the poet is reflected in the different rooms of the house, such as the Capitain’s Bar, the Secret Passage and the “lighthouse” room.

In the surroundings of La Chascona, which is located in the pleasant residential neighbourhood of Bellavista, you can spend many enjoyable hours here. On the one hand you have the option of going to one of the area’s bars and restaurants, suitable for all tastes and budgets, which line the streets of Pío Nono and Constitución. In addition, some prefer to ride the picturesque funicular at La Chascona which goes to one of the most visited placed in Santiago. We are referring to the park which crowns the San Cristóbal hill, which provides impressive views of the city – probably the best in all of Santiago.
